Rev. Sherry Brady – Associate Pastor

Rev. Sherry Brady has been Ministry Associate at Safford FUMC going on eight years receiving her official appointment to Safford in 2009. Receiving her training from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, Sherry was ordained in June 2013 as a deacon. Deacons are United Methodist clergy who lead the church in relating Christians to their ministries in the world through worship leadership, preaching, teaching, nurturing spiritual vitality and leading ministries of service, love, and justice.

As ministry associate, Sherry assists Pastor Mary in preaching duties here in Safford. She helps to organize and lead youth activities and teaches the Sunday School Class for Tweeners (grades 4-6). Her ministries outside of the local church include Gila Valley Ministerial Association. Sherry has been the pianist at FUMC since 2000 and meets regularly with the pastor and choir director to plan worship.

Sherry and her husband, James, have been married for 30 years and have two daughters , a son-in-law, and grand son, Candace Brady, and Alyssa, Lucas and River Herrmann that live in El Paso. In her spare time she enjoys riding her motorcycle, and seeing her grandson.
